The Parish of Valley with Bryngwran and Caergeiliog
Mrs. Eilir Williams, our organist at St. Michael's Church, Valley has retired after 46 years of faithful service. We give thanks for her friendship and loyalty and wish her many happy years of retirement with us as an 'ordinary' member of the congregation.
Family Christmas Service
The sermon today was on socks! The woollen socks were to remind us of the shepherds and their sheep, the pair of baby socks was to remind us of our Saviour being born, the socks with holes in them were God's holy angels bringing the good news, the smelly socks represented the stable and thankfully the shepherds didn't put a 'sock' in it, they went and told everyone the Good News! During Communion the Sunday School sang a variety of Christmas carols. It was lovely to see the church full.

The Church had been beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and candles, and a wide cross section of community groups took part. It was wonderful to see the Church almost full with families and friends, and everyone was given a small, beautifully wrapped gift of
mince pies on the way home! The organisations who took part were Bryngwran Church Sunday School, the local Youth Club, Hebron Chapel, Merched y Wawr, Sea Cadets and individual church members. Thank you to everyone who organised the service, as well as those who took part.

Christmas Messy Church
We had a fabulous morning dressed in our Christmas hats with jolly Christmas songs being played and getting covered in glue and glitter!! There was a wonderful turn out of families who thoroughly enjoyed making snow globes, Christmas cards, sock snowmen, fabric Christmas pictures and decorating Christmas trees. We ended the session with party games and a wonderful spread of food. Thank you to everyone again for all your wonderful support in making this outreach possible for the community.
We had a fantastic morning welcoming back our regular children and also many new faces! The hall was buzzing with laughter, fun and everyone enjoying being creative. Thank you to all those who provided food, helped on the craft tables and came along and supported the morning.

Harvest Thanksgiving - St. Michael’s Church, Valley
We had a lovely, full church to celebrate Harvest. We were reminded to be thankful for all that we have and to think of those who are in need. All the gifts of food that were brought to the service are going to be given to 'The Lighthouse’ in Holyhead to support the homeless. The Church was decorated beautifully - thank you to everyone for all their hard work.

Rogation Sunday Walk - Sunday, 5 May, 2013
WALK TO ST YLCHED’S CHURCH – On Sunday, May 5, 2013, we walked from Plas Llechylched to the site of the old St Ylched’s church, which was the parish church for the Bryngwran area before the new church was built in the village in 1841. There are no remains of the old church left by now, but there are still a number of graves there. We had an outdoor service under the care of the Rev. Neil Ridings and it was lovely to welcome the Venerable Paul Davies, Archdeacon of Bangor, who joined us on this special occasion. Following the service, we had afternoon tea in Cartio Mon. It was a wonderful day, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Thanks to Dr. Mike Doble for giving us permission to visit the site.
